As is RatM D:
You're probably too young to remember the impression and influence their first album made when it came out and how it was refined in the second one. I agree the later records are less... exceptional.
Yes, I was too young, but I know that pretty well. Hell, my bass teacher insisted on teaching me most of the songs on the album. I can agree on that it may have been influential, however it never did create anything that I would call "great".

Their name is good, but they are still filthy "revolutionary socialists" of the American teenager kind. We should hang them, remove all papers documenting their existence and then use their name for operations conducted by our secret service.

I like their aggressive metal/rap hybrid sound, but what's up with the political bullshit? Their lyrics aggravate me greatly.

Regardless of what you consider the best rock band of all time to be, the answer is that it ain't Korn. As a matter of fact, I believe Korn to be quite shit, mainly because of their rap influences - I dislike rap.

I think it's actually refreshing change from the usual :emo: or :gangasta: (not real)pseudo-ideologies. You don't need to share thair opinions, but hey - nice to see something different sometimes and the passion it (the ideology) seems to incite in the very band is priceless - isn't true passion at the heart of good music?
Yes, along with U2!
uhh what's wrong with U2 again?

Pretty stupid to name a single band to be the ultimate greatest bestest tuffest rock band 4evah omg lol. Not to mention that defining, categorizing and limiting any artists to a single "rock" category and completely ignoring any subcategories or new categories spawned from and within rock & roll is utterly stupid (indeed the utter shit :chew: )

Most of the bands mentioned had a great influence and shit, but it's undeniable that newer bands (of course) are better since they learned from their predecessors' mistakes and refined music that was brilliant already. It's kind of CAPTAIN OBVIOUS COMES TO SAVE THE DAY and shit, but hey, that makes this whole thread pointless.

Although Korn is shitty no matter what + they had no impact on anything whatsoever - except teenage suicide rates or something.

no. It doesn't work like that. It's not that simple. Nobody fucking 'refined' best songs of Doors, Queen, or Beatles.
Yes there are new good bands but what they do is good in a different way - not that old material 'refined'.
