Warcraft 3 was exactly like War2 and 1 but in 3d. World of Warcraft was basically just rounding out the polygons of War3. It all fits into the pattern of what they seem to want. It'll be okay MMRW, just come cuddle with me and I'll make all your hurts go away.

I happen to like it. Finally a game that didn't believe everything had to be !OMG HOLY PHYSICS & POLYGONS, BATMAN!..

EQ2 which came out at roughly the same time had "better" graphics, but imo looked like shit.. everything was shiny and perfect.

They did well. And if it is indeed a StarCraft mmo, I hope they try to do the same thing, with a bit more upgrade, since sci-fi *is* allowed to be shiny.

Huh? When I played the first 2 Warcrafts I always got a darker feeling from it, especially from the cutscenes. 3, and especially WoW kidified it or something. I think that's a term.

Now Starcraft is a whole other beast. It's like a cross between Aliens and Fallout. You have the dark hallways of various outposts or space stations, ravaged wastelands, that Zerg "creep" assimilating entire human colonies and changing the terrain. The only thing I never completely liked about Starcraft were the Protoss. They aren't half as interesting as the other 2.

If you wanna know how these games are supposed to look and feel just watch the cutscenes.

Its quite a good moneymaking move for Blizzard to offer a new MMO set in another world than fantasy and to become teh MMO number #1.
