The game is steadily going downwards, classes have become mainstremed, encounters aren't really that interesting, not enough renewal and the bit there is takes a long time to arrive.

I'm looking forwards to the new StarWars MMO. The cinematic trailer has a better fight scene than all the movies combined.

I've thankfully been WoW-free for about 6 months and have no real desire to go back.

I first genuinely liked the game, not so much for gameplay but for the sheer scale of it all, and I was an RTS warcraft fan going way back. Later I stayed on because of the social aspect, as I had a few friends who lived other places and WoW was our primary means of communication.

When Lich King came out, I hadn't played in a while, I bought it, got to level 72 and haven't touched it since... Several friends transferred servers or quit, so there is really no reason to play anymore, coupled with the continuous watering down of everything.

I like the idea of MMO's, there just hasn't been a real good one yet, relatively speaking.

I stopped raiding altogether recently, 'stepped down' from my officer's rank and have become a 'Hall of Legends' member of my guild,
*insert bitchy comment*

I play, still, but mostly bouncing around on a lowlevel character for fun. Actually doing quests. Mmm, quests.

I still actively get emails from his clan and I think a few were signed from him specifically. If you register on their forums or something they send out announcements to meetings. Last one was them dealing with the slow down I guess of people getting bored with WoW.

His clan is the Enclave.

That.

I got demoted to "Useless member" in my raiding guild, because my attendance was 30% of that of the other active raiders. Rejoined another guild where I can raid casually. I'll probably raid July / August casually because my girlfriend will be abroad and then quit for good when university starts again.

The game's started hitting the shitter on steady basis, but to be honest, it is perfect for casual gamers right now, which I suppose is Blizzard's target audience, being 99% of the playerbase.

I don't play WoW, but I got addicted to FFXI for quite a while. I was a kick ass hand-to-hand fighter Monk, white mage sub. Sometimes black mage sub if we had enough healers. finally had to quit b/c it was interfering w/my school work :( But I've always loved all the FF games--I remember playing FFIII on Nintendo WAAAYYYY back in the day hehe, but this was my first MMORPG to play.
Btw, is this one of those things where you're not really a user of this site--just created an account in order to place a stupid advertisement. 'Cause it kind of sounds like that from your post. If not, sorry. Oh, well, either way, that's my MMORPG story.

Nik, if anyone cared, the last reply to this before yours wouldn't have been in June.

It also sounds like one of those things where you're not really a user of this site but necroing threads to advertise stories that go nowhere.
