My girlfriend saw this over my shoulder. I had no coherent explanation for anything that was happening.Kashluk wrote:The baby face plasma attack really made my day.Manoil wrote:none of those movies were quite as intense as this
You can bitch incessantly about how racist District 9 is but your touchy-feely liberal butt doesn't know that King Kong was built on every racial black stereotype of the time?Aonaran wrote:The King Kong bit was racist? Wut?
Not King Kong, sillyass:Retlaw83 wrote:You can bitch incessantly about how racist District 9 is but your touchy-feely liberal butt doesn't know that King Kong was built on every racial black stereotype of the time?Aonaran wrote:The King Kong bit was racist? Wut?
Thank you for making my point for me, though. King Kong was an excellent example of using film as a medium to smuggle social critique into popular entertainment. QT's comment on it was very intentional, especially when you consider his thematic goals. Neil Blomkamp could learn a thing or two from him, especially since the entirety of his thematic attempts in "District 9" are achieved in that brief, though concise, scene.Aonaran wrote:The King Kong bit
I would make a great Mickhunter, but it wasn't the hunting of jews that was great for me. It was the character. The actor was completely awesome, over the top, and just really great to watch.Retlaw83 wrote:I heard he's a mickhunter when it isn't jewhunting season.
He really made that role his. Kind of the highlight of the movie for me having just seen it.Dogmeatlives wrote:Saw it. Jewhunter is awesome beyond words.
