I think we've all said this at one point about IW, out of fairness and respect for how good the original was and the fact that Spector and Co. were behind it. But despite your bet intentions, the game itself will turn you off to it.
What happened to Warren Spector? Everything he touched turned to gold.
Same thing happened to John Carpenter in the movie biz.
They hit the wall and just lost it.

I'm 'Kashluk' where ever I may roam, mang I favor Team Deathmatches and Capture the Flag -servers, not much of a Battle - type fan. Too much Counter-Strike-ish waiting.
Aight. I'll keep an eye out for ya. I'm not a big battle-fan myself, but if there is some proper tactics involved its quite fun, and less waiting as everyone is killed quite quickly.
I've learned to love playing Archer characters in multiplayer. I can't hit shit while on a horse and my skills in melee are awful at best. But I can score some magical headshots every now and then
It cost, like, 20 bucks here. If you haven't got the original - definitely. And even if you do, then IMHO it's worth it just for the multiplayer and the new polished look (graphicx 'n particlez).

Little Blargh, whereas Morrowind might not be everyone's cup of tea, it is not a bad game per se. It definitely has not aged too well and it takes a lot of commitment to get into it, but if you've got the time and willingness, you'll end up having fun. The problem is that whenever you say Morrowind, people think Oblivion; essentially shitting all over the saga of a decent game.
How an individual of sound mind and character could rationalise the affable mediocrity that is guilelessly embodied by Morrowind as anything but bland pablum is, frankly, beyond my reckoning. I can only surmise that you have indulged in an egregious display of shifting goal posts to have forced this conclusion against reality and good sense. Were the context of this matter of greater relevance than Internetz, I would likely feel some measure of pity. A shame.
It's not really about an Elder Scrolls analogy.
It's about IW just sucking. It's not even "holy shit this is bad", playing IW is more like air leaving a balloon and suddenly all your left with is a shriveled up, tattered piece of rubber.
You don't break it down and analyze it.
You discard it and move on with your life.
That's IW, cut your losses and move on.

I've always had a lot of fun with the first one, I've yet to buy Warband but I'll definitely snag it the first weekend it goes on sale. I've only heard good things about it.
And found this nice mod the other day called Europe 1257. It's like "real-life" Mount & Blade. Works for Warband as well. Check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhoeBmZsPyQ
