Alright, I found what was left of my review (I posted it in some godawful thread Susan made back at the original Tcancer forums) and spruced it up a bit and posted it.

Happy? HUH? HUH?

I guess it'll pass as an April fools joke.

Nah, I'm satisfied and won't torment you about it anymore.

Received my copy today. After a bit tweaking, the game runs decent on my sub-minimum system. Outdoors are a bit sluggish, but I'm getting there.:)

When you get tons of equipment and your RAM are clogged with all kind of random shit from the millions of places you visit within an hour (if you're doing quests anyway), then it'll run slightly worse.

And by slightly mean shitloads.

What's up with me being arrested all the time? I entered a merchant's basement and guess who was the first person I met there: An Imperial Guard!

Yeah, the crime/punishment rules could use to be a bit less static. As it stands, if you so much as lift an item out of an empty house you walked into in the dead of night you're going to be hunted down by the guard, whether seen or not.

Not if you're not seen. I stole loads of stuff and I never had to deal with the law.

What pisses me off is just that assassinating someone is super tough.

Maybe if you're retarded.

Well, Martin turned into a stupid dragon and now I'm doing the random side quests. I'm the "Listener" for the Dark Brotherhood and I'm working on some shit-quest for the Thieves Guild where I'm supposed to break into some royalty's house and get her ring while she sleeps. It's been 4 "days" and the only people that lie in the fucking bed are the husband and a servant....The princess or whatever is nowhere to be found.

Also, I hate that the creatures grow in level with you. It's really lame to be insta-killed by a bear or mountain lion when you're apparently strong enough to kill every single Daedra and beat the main quest. Even those fucking fish in the water level up. Shouldn't take 10 minutes to slash up a bear and two or three to kill the Daedra.

The more I play the less I like that particular aspect of the game....It was a neat way to introduce stronger characters as you go along, but then it's just retarded. I also hate that the entire game depends on how good I am with the mouse rather than the actual character stats.

Fallout 3 will be okay if they can avoid using the human player's skill with a mouse in the combat system. Turn based is seriously the only way to go. Screw Hack'n'Slash.

Anyhow, other than the bitching above, I'm quite enjoying Oblivion. Lots to do once you've figured out where to go.

Are Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild and Warrior Something all guilds in Oblivion? Because everyone just bitch about the three over and over and over again.

You have to break in at like 1am using the secret passage in the basement, the one leading to the torture room. From there the tunnel continues to the Countess's appartments, and to her room. Watch it, as there's a guard patrolling in there. Just lay on the door, listen for the guard's footsteps to vanish and jump in, sneak to the bed. By the bed, there's a desk with a jewel case(locked, average), open it, and tadam. Hurry out to the secret tunnel though, because the guard comes back regularly.

That together with the retarded NPC levelling makes the character development rather pointless.

Is it just me or do all houses/caves/dungeons look the same?

Daggerfall all over again. :aiee:

Sounds like a revolutionary way to treat depressions.
