Cheating

Discuss the game that started it all, and its sequel. Technical questions and issues go into the Fallout Technical Support forum, not here.

How's this for pathetic and guilty: I've beaten Fallout 1 + 2 a total of at least 10 times without cheating (including games set on highest combat/game difficulty). I've also been through them more than that WITH a character editor.

I happen to think Fallout is an extremely fun game. For me, using editors make it more fun... Who are you to tell me I'm wrong?

On a side note, after 5 years or so, how can anyone consider either Fallout a challenge? It's not like you haven't memorized every dialogue, all quests, and all item locations, right? So if I occasionally go through the game for the 30th time or so, how am I "being a wimp" simply because I use an editor?

EDIT: Also, there's a good point to be made about using editors to explore the entire game. For instance, once I went through Fallout 2, and after each NPC I talked to, I used falche to change my sex, and talked to the person again to see what changed, so suddenly o noez, i r teh munch kin hax0r omgwtf??

No kidding. Why are you people so mad about the way someone likes to play their games. Like I said, if they dont boast, then shut the hell up. It's THIER game, in THIER house, on THIER computor. Not yours.

I think it's pretty damned stupid to use editors to play through the game the first or second time, but when you've found just about everything there is, why the hell not fuck around a bit?

Maybe, but if I did that it would still be my choice and my loss, wouldn't it? As long as I don't call you a big gutless loser for not having the super-character I have, and brag about how good I am because "I beat the game on the first try! I beat the game on record time!", then how I play and whether I cheat or not really isn't anyone's business but mine. You have every right to think I'm stupid, of course, and I have just as much right to ignore that opinion of yours and carry on cheating if I want to. *grins*

It's just a game, people. How others play it doesn't matter as long as you are having fun when you play.
