Partially that, also after the collapse of Soviet union some people realized that it was teh greatest thing eva, so they had to pwn themselves because of the guilt.

Die Hard 4.0

Why do they make crap like this? Or action movies, for that matter. Is Bruce Willis knee deep in debt or what? Let's start with the bads:

The script is written by a 12-year old who thought it'd be cool with cyberterrorists taking over the entire communications, security and electric systems of the US of A. The antagonists were like from a bad Bond movie; the main badass was some ex-Government computer security wizard who, for some reason, was completely dependent of his incompetent nerd assistant. There was also a kung-fu chick and French assassins(who failed, obviously).

Bruce Willis was no better. Accompanied by an annoying hacker kid he drove a car through a power station and got involved in awkward hollywood dialogue. He clearly didn't make any stunts and every movement he made screamed of 'I'm too old for this shit'.

I could mention several implausibilities like viruses that make computers explode like they got several kilos of TNT inside them, a terrorist helicopter chasing a car in middle of Washington fucking DC, cheap sets with flashing buttons à la Star Trek and a completely clueless FBI, but I wont.

I didn't see a single bystander or pedestrian during the last hour of the film; it seems they couldn't afford any extras or they were too ashamed to get caught on tape.

As for the pro(s), I thought it was pretty cool when McClane(Willis) shot through his own body to hit the bad guy behind him; too bad he missed his own artery.

Unless you're Connor McLeod it's definitely moronic to do something like that. Or was it like "old man dies, young girl lives... fair trade"-ish?

Yeah, he was in sort of a dead-end situation there. And he had like 12 bullet holes already so what difference does it make?
