Well in case none of you here at the DAC have heard the bad news about "Dimebag" Darrel of Damage Plan and Pantera fame here you go:

God dammit there goes a legend. This doesn't really happen to rockers so much as it does to stupid gangster rappers. Either way frown =(.

I'd rather see a dead rapper, though.

This is Janus' first contribution of any value.
What I can see is a couple more heavy metal dudes dying in attacks. Then they'll start "vesting up" like rappers do.

Did Pantera even ever make any noteworthy songs?

Apparently they did a cover of Planet Caravan which was a big hit. I'll stick with the original, though, thanks.

I wonder if anyone recorded any sound or video of the incident?

The 911-call is on ogrish, but I think that the coppers confiscated the vid(s).

Ogrish, not sure what that is, got a link?
As for any video or audio being taken by the cops, most likely
But how much money could be made if hidden in the club or whatever or a dark artifact for the fan who recorded it
Remember those pictures of Kurt Cobain on the net years ago?

The original is much better by far, no doubt about that.

So does this mean the "Dimebag" title is now up for grabs?

i personally think Pantera sounds like shit, but of course when any known musician/actor dies here in America they become a legend and instantly their shitty work becomes masterpeices.
