Filefront now have an interview with Kingsley Montgomery, Lead Designer for Twilight War, available to read. Twilight War is a Source-powered post-apocalyptic MMORPG.
Q: Since the game takes place in the future, I have to ask… is drug abuse still a problem, or has humankind managed to master its own addictive personalities?

A: Good question. In the future world of Twilight War, the world is harsh. The Doomsday War between Humanity and the alien Skel 200 years earlier has wiped out all the cities. Civilization is all but gone and high technology only exists in small pockets and hidden in military caches. The landscape is dominated by wastelands, ruins, and the nature-war between flora and fauna from the past, and newer varieties that are either mutant or alien in origin. Drugs are once again in abundance and are no longer “illegal in most places since lawlessness predominates. In fact, drugs are used for many things in the broad term – for medicines, “buffs, and for, ah…recreational effects. Addiction is also modeled into the design. Needless to say, the game will be for mature audiences.
Why not just call them stimpacks and be honest about where you get your ideas from?
There's also another interview here, from earlier this week, on the game's fansite, The Abbey.

Every time I read an interview from these guys it has more ideas ripped off from other places.
the underground hobby project CONFLICT:Omega had the same idea for drugs (in fact they have a crafting and rare chemical scavenging gameplay around it) over 2 years ago.
They've said they want it to feel like "planetside" for god's sake.
