Interplay Officially Announces Publishing Deal

Post by King of Creation »

<strong>[Company -> Update]</strong>

Defying the odds yet again, <b>Interplay</b> has actually managed to get a publishing gig.
<br><blockquote><i>Additionally, the Company announced it has signed an agreement with Majorem, an Israeli game developer, to exclusively publish and distribute "Ballerium," the massively multiplayer online strategy game. The game, currently in beta testing, is expected to be commercially launched by summer 2005.
<br>
<br>Commenting on the earnings and the Majorem agreement, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, "We continue to operate in a difficult transition period. This alliance with Majorem represents an important first step in executing the Company's strategy announced earlier this year to migrate to the massively multiplayer online gaming market, not only with our own properties like 'Fallout' but also with third party content. 'Ballerium' has generated strong buzz online already, and we look forward to leveraging this title."</blockquote></i>Yeah...so I didn't see this coming. I didn't think anyone really could be that stupid.
<br>
<br>If you really want to read the rest of the article, which also has the official 3rd quarter figures, check it out <a href="http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/041223/deth ... l">here</a>.

What the hell. Why would any company sign up with Interplay? Especially for a game that requires long-term support like a MMORPG.

Grr, try and keep things on topic. Though I can see why Interplay's continued survival would make you angry. >:(

Interplays dead and gone. It's about time someone buried it and gave it a chance for final rest.

The forums for this MMORPG are full of people saying how great interplay is. interplay has no money. I don't understand how they're going to fund this MMORPG.

Never heard of that company either. Maybe they are very small and have low costs.

Pretty fun seeing the pennyless joining the bankrupt to try and reach the stars.

how the fuck can Iply afford to make a MMRPG - it's fucking expensive, so I hear - they cancelled Warhammer Online after a lot of promising work, because they said they wouldn't make profit.
I mean, something doesn't feel right about a company on the verge of bankrupcy planning to release a MMORPG.
