God Almighty it never stops...STALKER Previews

Post by Mad Max RW »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>

We were blessed with not one, but two more previews on the game everyone's <STRIKE>mocking</strike> talking about, <A HREF="http://stalker-game.com/index_eng.html" target=_block>STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl</a>. The first comes from <A HREF="http://stalker.filefront.com/news/Stalk ... ions;15286" target=_blank>StalkerFiles.com</a>, where they talk about their first impressions of multiplayer. I quickly scanned it and saw the words <I>"counter"</i> and <I>"strike"</i> mentioned several times together, so expect something totally original. There's also a few screenshots.
<br>
<br>But not all is lost. <A HREF="http://wasteland.duckandcover.cx/stalker/exo.php" target=_blank>STALKER Online</a> is back with yet another revealing article, this time previewing the little discussed exo-skeleton. I'm not sure what else it was about because my head started to hurt. Along with the preview are a couple screenshots, one of a mutated NPC exposed to far too much radiation, the other is one dragon out of several that appear in the game.<blockquote><center><A HREF="http://wasteland.duckandcover.cx/stalker/06.jpg" target=_blank><img src="http://wasteland.duckandcover.cx/stalker/06th.jpg"></a> <A HREF="http://wasteland.duckandcover.cx/stalker/08.jpg" target=_blank><img src="http://wasteland.duckandcover.cx/stalke ... blockquote>
<br>
<br>Jaw dropping.

Judging from the left screenshot, this game will be quite frightening, perhaps even rivaling Doom 3?

The one on the left looks like Rex. The one on the right looks like it's growing a statue out of its back.

Doom 3 was frightening ?
Indeed, paying $65 for a game like that, it was a most frightening experience for me and my wallet.

Y'know what? I think that this game is actually a flipbook... If you put all the screenshots together in a book, you can prolly play about halfway through the game just by flipping the pages quickly.

Nothing like a slow-moving localized apocalypse to really make you think about proper data backup procedures.

Indeed, after reading all the reviews this thread has to offer, one can only conclude two things: One. exoskeletons were bound to happen sooner or later and Two. Stalker Online is the best official stalker-fansite/newsportal on the internet!
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

Yeah, they could make it more realistic though. It doesn't look like a real face, just some bad polygons thrown together.

$65 Canadian, silly girl, and people paying $55 US for games are suckers.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Whenever you pay for a PC game you're a sucker.
