Isn't Shodan somehow more blue than this?

More gray and green.
This one looks like it's been shot in the eye.

It's just freaking out a bit, it's ok.

How did you make the splatter / whatever it is? I don't think it's too bad.

She doesn't have to be grey. I was going for something more surreal and sinister-looking.

The wavy-splatter stuff was an effect in Corel PhotoPaint. It randomly made a bunch of squiggles, and that one fit perfectly with the picture. Add a few touchups, some color tinting, a lens flare, and voila.

I don't see the problem(s) really. It's an interesting piece in my opinion. That it deviates from the more traditional interpretations of SHODAN is something to be encouraged, not vilified. SHODAN's arguably one of the best and most memorable computer game villains of all time.

To summarise - Huzzah. :drunk:

I always thought SHODAN was an asshole. Subhuman drew him/her/it pretty well.

No, she is inarguably the best and most memorable computer game villain of all time. Anyone who disagrees is....well, Spazmo probably.

Perhaps, yet even then exceptions will appear. Nice bit of art, regardless. :drunk:

Ho ho ho. No, you are, in this case, quite right (the law of averages suggests that you'd have to be eventually, really). I don't know about the best (but then I never like to say anything is the best ever because there's probably something I've forgotten), but, as Blargh says, SHODAN is up there.

Though the Many were creepier, at least in SS2.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I still think Master is the top-numbah-one of all time arch villains.

The Master was lame. Yeah, I said it.

Agreed. Could this be the start of a trend?

Probably not. I'll announce that I've never played System Shock 1, to your great dismay, and you'll say something horrific about music (maybe announce your hate of, say, Deep Purple? Who knows!) and we'll be back to normal.

Well, I've only ever heard "Smoke on the Water", so no bashing of Deep Purple just yet. At least until I hear "Highway Star" and make my verdict.

And I don't blame you for not playing SS1. It's damn near impossible to find, and actually getting it up and running once you procure a copy is a Herculean effort involving copper wire and jellybeans. You've never played SS1, I've never played Monkey Island - we'll call it a draw.
