Feargus Urquhart stars in MYSTARY

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[ -> Update]

Corith, an ex Interplay employee, writes in this thread on NMA:
[Wild_qwerty] But on a serious note, I would like to know if in the process of buying the FO licence Bethseda were given any/all of the original FO/FO2 tools or source codes.

[Corith] To the best of knowledge, they were. Although I believe that Fergus bought the graphic textures (and some other assets) in early June 2004, before Interplay was shut down.

...

He bought all the textures that Black Isle created.
As Briosafreak says (who pointed these posts out to me), Feargus isn't into nostalgia. What could he want these textures for? Perhaps Bioware have got a post-apocalyptic project set in the Star Wars universe they want Feargie to make for them?

Verrrry interesting. Although, I have to wonder why he'd want those 2D (a fairly low res) textures. One can only assume that any game Bioware would be making would have to be 3D. Eh...we can only speculate.

Erhm, mebbe there is no SEKRET MEANING behind this. Maybe he just felt like buying the textures just in case.

I often buy more than enough ass paper, just IN CASE. I'm not necessarily planning to take over the world because I buy paper.

Just the bathroom.

Well there's not much he can do with them, since the licences are either dead (Planescape) or bought up (Fallout). Maybe he was just buying them "in case", like Susan says.

I wonder if that includes Van Buran.

Hey, they were having team meetings on cheap-ass dining tables; buying the graphics could've saved them time and money so that they don't have to redo it.

So when I told Feargus about the situation and asked him if he might be able to elaborate, this is what he responded by asking Who told you about this?

Not very friendly, it seems.
