Duck and Cover

I've been getting an error message every time I try to load FO2, saying it "Can't find/load text fonts"

I would just reinstall, but my FO2 cd got snapped in half when I was moving, and I'd like to try and fix this before I go get another copy.

First, I would make sure that the fallout2.cfg is still looking in the right place:

The [system] section of fallout2.cfg should contain:

critter_dat=H:\Games\BlackIsle\Fallout2\critter.dat
critter_patches=H:\Games\BlackIsle\Fallout2\data
master_dat=H:\Games\BlackIsle\Fallout2\master.dat
master_patches=H:\Games\BlackIsle\Fallout2\data

(with 'H:\Games\BlackIsle\Fallout2\' replaced by whatever your Fallout2 directory actually is, of course.).

This works when that error appears with the mapper, but I haven't tried it with Fallout 2 itself to see if it will resolve that error (And amnot able to at the present).

Also note that if you did not do a HUMONGOUS installation, you will probably be out of luck and have to pick up another copy, since some of the data files you will need will be located on the CD.
