Terminator 4: no returning cast

Post by Mr. Teatime »

[Film & TV -> Update] - More info on Person: Arnold Schwarzenegger | More info on Person: Nick Stahl | More info on Film & TV: Terminator 4

It appears that none of the cast from Terminator 3 will be returning in Terminator 4. <a href="http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire2005/inde ... >According to Sci Fi Wire,

Nick Stahl, who played John Connor in 2003's hit Terminator 3: Rise of
the Machines, told SCIFI Wire that neither he nor T3 co-star Claire
Danes will appear in a proposed fourth Terminator movie. "I'm not going
to be in T4," Stahl said in an interview while promoting his latest
film, the upcoming Sin City. "None of the cast is coming back." Stahl
said that the producers' current plans may not even include original
Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is now the governor of
California.

Stahl added: "The [T4] story is changing conceptually. I
believe it's a jump to the future, so my character will be quite a bit
older. That's all that I know. So I'm not coming back, which is a drag.
I don't know much more than that." Stahl took over the role of the
youthful future leader of the rebellion against Skynet from Edward
Furlong, who originated the role in 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

I don't think any of the cast returning are necessary for Terminator 4, given the proposed time difference between the film and its predecessor. Schwarzenegger returning would be nice, though, as would having James Cameron direct - neither of which are likely to happen.

Not even Dr. Peter Silberman travelled through time? They should at least have a "Here rests Dr. Peter Silberman, terminally insane" headstone somewhere in the film.

I agree.

T3 was an utterly needless film, and the commercials were very misleading; I was under the impression most of it would occur after Skynet took over.

Maybe Arnold will be all CGI, and go back to being the bad guy.

T3 was not good, and having Nick Stahl and Clare Danes star in it didnt help... so good riddence I say!
But all Terminator-movies need Arnold even if its just a cameo!
There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

The only part of T3 that wasn't completely awful was the very end. No happy save the world, everybody lives in harmony bullshit. Nukes start flying and you know they're fucked.

With such a good premise already setup for T4, they'll still find a way to fuck it up.

If anything, they should just have the Terminator that Arnold plays in its robot form as a main character throughout the movie, and it should always be wearing star-shaped sunglasses.

The only good part was Arnold going throught the wall with a coffin on his shoulder.

No, yuck. He made Aliens vs Predator!

Paul Verhoeven should direct it! That would be the best.

Verhoeven is the fucktard who made Starship Troopers a masturbation session for 12 year old boys because he refused to read the source material so it didn't "taint" his vision of what the movie should be.

Robocop was good. The movie Starship Troopers might as well have been called "Spoiled Frat Kids with Guns," as the only thing it has in common with the book are character names and alien bugs.
