Troika is indeed dead.

<strong>[Company -> Update]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... tle=Troika Games">Company: Troika Games</a>

<strong>Andrew "</strong><strong>Mandrew" Meggs</strong>, who used to work for <a href="http://www.troikagames.com">Troika</a>, has <a href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewto ... 42">posted on NMA</a> shedding some more light on what happened to Troika.

<blockquote><em>Everyone's talking about what the ex-Troika
people are going to do. The reality is that for the past several months
Troika has been on a skeleton crew. The real layoffs happened in two
waves at the start and end of November, and a lot of people have
already moved on. I know of ex-Troika people working for all of these
companies:

Activision

Day One Studios

Mythic Entertainment

Obsidian Entertainment

Point of View (2)

Seven Studios (2)

Sony (2)

Supervillains (2)

Swinging Ape

Tiger Hare (2+)

Turtle Rock

Treyarch

(And any of you who are reading this and don't see your current employer listed, by all means PM me. Let's not lose touch.)</em>

</blockquote>
So there you go, it's confirmed. Troika are dead, though the fact that
they've been in trouble since November last year is interesting. Maybe
that explains the lack of polish in Bloodlines?

Waiting for an official statement seems to be a technicality now.

Kind of odd for Boyarsky and company to flash around their uncompleted PA game and granting interviews like nothing's shaking, isn't it?

Could have been an attempt to encourage publishers to jump onboard and listen to their pitch.

I guess it comes from them most likely not having a publishing deal after Bloodlines. No publishing deal = no titles to really work on = no point in keeping extra employees with nothing to do = downard spiral. Maybe if they had had more money, they'd have been able to fund themselves for a bit to work on a title and then shop around for a publisher.
It's a shame, since the raw sales figures surely say this company shouldn't have died.
