Omega Sydrome reaches 2.0
<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... Australian Game Developers">Company: Australian Game Developers</a> | More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... ?title=The Omega Syndrome">Game: The Omega Syndrome</a>
<a href="http://www.ausgamedev.com/index.html">The Omega Syndrome</a>,
a game that's not post-apocalyptic but a <em>Fallout</em> clone in every other
area, has been updated to version 2.0. Here's the announcement and
changelog:
<blockquote><em><strong>
THE OMEGA SYNDROME UPDATED TO VER 2.00!
Changes To Skills!</strong>
Thief skills have been added including Steal, Lock Pick, Sneak, Disarm Traps and Detect Traps!
<strong>Guarded Containers and Traps!</strong>
You can trade with and steal from containers that are owned by shop
keepers and other people in the game. Also traps have been to added to
some containers and some nasty proximity traps have been sprinkled
throughout the game.
<strong>Doors!</strong>
Locked doors have been added to hinder access to some very interesting areas.
<strong>Note:</strong>
If you already own OS and want to play VER 2.00, you need to download the latest versions of the demo and Add On 1.</em>
</blockquote>
You can look at a screenshot of those new skills <a href="http://www.ausgamedev.com/omegasyndrome ... G">here</a>. Something I never noticed before is the presence of SPECIAL. If Herve had the ability, I'm sure he'd sue.
Thanks <strong>Saint_Proverbius</strong> of <a href="http://www.rpgcodex.com">RPG Codex</a>!

Ok, no offense to anyone, but...
What's with this game? I downloaded
First of all, it looks like a DOS game.
Is there any sound at all in the game?
Seriously, no offense to anyone, but it just seems like a really bad ripoff of the Fallout game.

“To your question, a question: You claim this city’s existence is flawed. You have accepted this rather than explore the possibility that something greater may exist. That suggests you are flawed… and that you do not search for knowledge, but only for a convenient answer.

OK, no offense to anyone, but is this a DOS game? And where is the sound? Is it just not included in the demo?
Seriously, this makes no sense!

No, and the window that openned up when you launched the game should have tipped you off that it's a windows application. Also the Full Screen option there would have to be a huge hint.Superrpgman wrote:OK, no offense to anyone, but is this a DOS game?
Try turning on your speakers.And where is the sound? Is it just not included in the demo?

All I heard was a bunch of sound effects.Saint_Proverbius wrote:"No, and the window that openned up when you launched the game should have tipped you off that it's a windows application. Still, it really feels like a DOS game.

But what if I like Fallout 2 for different reasons other than it being old school?Fez wrote:The game might be ugly, but it is quite fun if you like the old skool flava.
Just because it's old school doesn't make it good. Just look at Golden Sun.

Another thing. The left and right mouse clicks. Why do they do the exact same thing?
