What console
What console
Thinking of getting a console for just general fucking around on of a bored afternoon when there's nothing to do. Upgrading to a better PC is out of the question. Which is best - PS2, the other one, or the other one?
Used to have one of the old PS1s. Enjoyed the likes of Tekken 2, Rage Racer, Twisted Metal 2 especially. Wait, and the Resident Evil series.
Please advise.

Yeah it depends on what games you want to play. There is a large number of titles that are available on all platforms, so the decision should be made based on what EXCLUSIVE titles you want to play.
The newer Resident Evil games are only available on Gamecube (and of course you're not going to find a Zelda or Mario game on a non-Nintendo system).
The Grand Theft Auto series is only available on PS2.
Xbox is the only place you can play Halo 1 or 2, Doom 3, and since it's closest to a PC it also has a lot more PC ports (like Morrowind).
So I'd look at the exclusive title list & make a decision based on that.

PS2 has the most variety of titles and has the best looking future.
GC has RE series then all nintendo games, the future doesnt have a lot of games comming out but if you want something cheap the CG is the best choice. The console is $99 and theres alot of older titles for cheap.
Xbox has a lot of shooters and online play. If you like online play then the xbox is probably the best choice. Its future looks like its going to die right after E3 in may because MS is supposedly going to launch xbox2 later this year. Ive been hearing its hard to even find xbox systems in stores right now.

No, fags just say that when they play FFX-2 for 24 hours straight and their ps2 explodes and laughs at them. The new ps2 supposedly has no fans but it should be fine as long as u dont play out in the sun when its 100F outside.
xbox 2 will probably be backwards compbatibile, since thats what all the girls are doing.

How is age a moral standpoint? I say go with PS2, you can play your old PS1 games on it and as Pooper said, it has the best selection. GC has some exclusives, but those are slowly drifting away. RE 4 is comming to PS2 pretty soon (Supposibily) for example.
I've never had troubles with my PS2 except for the time I plugged it into 220 instead of 110 voltage. Seriousily, I've played it for hours on end and I've never had any troubles with over heating.
