The
first <a href="http://comingsoon.net/news/hitchhikersg ... d=8866">TV
spot</a> for <a href="http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/">The Hitchhiker's Guide to
the Galaxy</a> is now out. It's fairly short, like most
TV spots, but it does showcase some nifty visuals. For those
of you who might have forgotten:
<blockquote><em>Earthman
Arthur Dent (Martin Freeman) is having a very bad day. His house is
about to be bulldozed, he discovers that his best friend (Mos Def) is
an alien and to top things off, Planet Earth is about to be demolished
to make way for a hyperspace bypass. Arthur's only chance for survival:
hitch a ride on a passing spacecraft. For the novice space traveler,
the greatest adventure in the universe begins when the world ends.
Arthur sets out on a journey in which he finds that nothing is as it
seems: he learns that a towel is just the most useful thing in the
universe, finds the meaning of life, and discovers that everything he
needs to know can be found in one book: "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the
Galaxy."
The cast and voice cast also includes Sam Rockwell, Zooey Deschanel,
Bill Nighy, Stephen Fry, Alan Rickman, John Malkovich, Warwick Davis,
Anna Chancellor, Polly Jane Adams, Richard Griffiths, Steve Pemberton
and Ian McNeice.

There are no 'knowns'. There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.
