BBC Reviews HHGTG

Post by King of Creation »

<strong>[Film & TV -> Review]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... tchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy">Film & TV: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy</a>

<p><a target="_self" href="http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/">The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy</a> film has been reviewed by the <strong>BBC</strong>.</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>The film burbles along at an amusing canter, occasionally
rising to levels worth a chuckle. But unlike the books and radio
series, it rarely makes you laugh out loud...</em></p>
<p><em>Despite outstanding production design and some fantastic visual
effects, overall the film is a bit of a mess. A charming mess,
maybe, but a mess all the same.</em></p>
<p><em>Did the script veer too far from the source material or tie itself in knots trying to keep faith with it?</em></p>
<p><em>Bizarrely, I think the answer is both.</em>

</p>
</blockquote>
<p>The reviewer seems pretty confused. He can't seem to really
make a clear cut decision. Oh well. You can read the whole
thing <a target="_blank" href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainmen ... re</a>.</p>
<p>Thanks for the tip <strong>Ernesto</strong>. </p>

I find most reviews by people who get paid to review things are pretty shitty reviews.

You should be paid to review reviewers. That'd be an interesting job.

Eventually, we'll need someone to review the review reviewers. I got dibbs on that job.

I guess reading reviews of reviewers reviewing reviewers, reviews of reviewers and reviews et' all would eventually become a pretty glamourous job itself.

Yes indeed. And no one would bother to watch the movies anymore.

I'm still gonna watch this movie. I think I might wait in line for a bunch of hours by myself and pretend I'm a Star Wars dork, except I'm a HHGTG dork instead, but it will be lol and stuff all over.

You have to wait hours to see a movie, in the USA?

I think he means seeing it on the first day.
I'll just wait 3-6 months and order it through Netflix.

It would be interesting to see how many people show up at the
theatre wearing bathrobes and carrying towels.
