PA Short Film

<strong>[Film & TV -> Article]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... le=William Joines">Person: William Joines</a> | More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... le=William Joines' Fallout">Film & TV: William Joines' Fallout</a>

<p>In 2003, director <strong>William Joines</strong> made a short film called <em>Fallout</em>,
which was showcased at the Riverrun Film Festival and was a Student
Academy Award Nominee. Unfortunately, the film film doesn't have
anything to do with our beloved game, but it certainly is post
apocalyptic.</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>
William wrote the screenplay for his third year project entitled <em>Fallout</em>,
which is being considered for Student Academy Award nomination. The 15
minute thriller, which features an impressive performance by local
actress Jessica Marker, follows the story of a young girl who wakes up
in a destroyed bomb shelter with no memory of who she is or how she got
there. (<a href="http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/stude ... sa.shtml#p" target="_self">source</a>)

</em></p>
</blockquote>
<p>You can download the film from Joines' <a href="http://www.willjoines.com/fallout.html" target="_self">website</a>. It's definitely worth the hefty download.

That was a lot of arthouse bullcrap that wasted fifteen precious minutes of my life.

Same here. Boring, and too cheap-looking.

Anything on a Film Festivals is made by nerdy graduates from Movie Academy who think their movies must be some goddamn deep philosophic and metaphoric shit(And concern the wrongs of da World of course), as opposed to the flatness and predictability of Hollywood.

And it ends that the amateur movies are just as unwatchable as Hollywood ones.

If you want more understandable version...

Maybe you guys just have bad taste. I personally thought it was excellent, the young actress espiecially should be commended on a job well done.

I thought it was pretty good. Pretty high production value for a student film. The acting by the girl was really good.

I can't say I like the acting, sorry. Then again, I thought Schwarzenegger was "mad cunt" in Terminator 2...

The movie was nice and I thought the acting was good as well. It looks nice considering it didn't have a high budget and stuff

I guess plot, characters and dialog are too expensive as well?

I liked the movie.

The plot was okay, not much of it, but okay...
It was interesting seeing the child try to get time to get by down there.

I liked the set, nicely made!

But there were so many things that were wrong in the movie though...

The bunkers equipment is all rattled and thrown around... fair enough, if a bomb had been dropped directly on it, but I doubt she'd be alive then.

The food is maggot-infested and the water is rotten... Just how much time did there go from she entered, to she woke up..? And isn't all that food supposed to last for ages?

Let's say the food packets were open, fair enough, it could begin to rot in a few days maybe... (highly unlikely...!)

But what about the plants? Leaves are covering the ventilation ducts and the monitor. A bit far out...!

And what's up with the power? You should've thought that someone else but her would've survived up there since there's power... and then come looking for her.

The end though sucked, with the pictures falling down... what the hell was that all about!...
Was it a dream...?

Agree'd however she was a good actor, i'd like to see some of the people who said it was crap act out some of those scenes, hell in my opinion she was better then some 'professional' actors.

That's the most stupid thing you could say. We're not fucking actors, we're the public.

That means he can now never complain about anything unless he can do better, if he wants to be consistent.
Don't hate him because he's beautiful.

It was bad, and I can do better. I dont even need a budget, or professional actors. This was complete shit ( not including the ok set ) by most standards, and if I ever see that girl on the street, however unlikely it may be, I'm going to murder her with my bare hands.
