Sounds interesting to me. Usually game to movie adaptations are crap, but Silent Hill is much more sophisicated in it's presentation than other games, particularly Resident Evil. The cast, director, and writer alone has me interested.Silent Hill Movie Casting

The game could make a cool movie but whats the point? The name silent hill is cool but there not much else to warrant a game based movie. They could have made their own movie with the same type of setting.
Despite my dislike towards game->movies, this one has a pretty good cast of people working with it. I dont know who the actors are lol

If someone just made a game similar to Silent Hill and called it something else, it'd just be a ripoff. I'm glad they're making a full movie adapation of the games.
Silent Hill has some constants going for it. The town itself, lots of fog, a main character who's lost and alone, Lovecraftian feel, etc. If they do it right and stick to these, it should turn out at least decent.
One thing that worries me is that the games are very much about one character being isolated in the town, and there seems to be two "leads", Bean and his movie wife. Usually the wife is dead or missing, and I hope that's the case for the movie.
