Yes, lets.

What games have you played that had the best death animations, especially
fire related?
Best explosions?
Most gratituous violence?
What made you giggle with homicidal glee?
Screenshots?

Or just move it to GD and make it a DAC Faces of Fiery Death.

JA2 had funny animations for deaths, and FO of course.

like this http://ja.gamigo.de/ja2/pics/anidead.gif or this http://ja.gamigo.de/ja2/pics/aniroof.gif for instance

Playing Soldier of Fortune with the shotgun had some moments and the plasma critical in FO is the best animation ever. :drunk:

Blood. Nothing beats those screams. Nothing.

Koki is correct. Sound is generally far more important than visuals. :drunk:

Those flamethrower death anims in FO is the best I've seen so far.
I also remember a fighting game named "Barbarian" where you could decapitate your adversary. The animation was so-so but when the arena tidying gremlin came to pick up the carcass and kicked the head away the sound was really revolting.

Yeah. Hell, that game was awesome to play in hot seat mode.

Douse a cat, dog, door to door zealot, or child in petrol. Stand well back. Ignite. Inhale. Listen. Remember.

'Tis empowering.

I personally guarantee that such an experience will make any and all depictions of fiery death, courtesy of any form of contemporary media pale by comparison. With or without intoxicating substances, it will change you. :drunk:

Crusader (both games) had great fire deaths.
I think Barbarian was called Deathsword on C64. I loved that imp who
kicked the head around.
If you got good enough, you could hold the joystck in a way that would
allow you to play one-handed. >:)

Soy sauce is evil, daily injections of it to the eyes is a 105% certain path towards immortality. Pay no attention to those silly magnetic rings, soy sauce is the key.

Ah yes, Barbarian, memory, 'twas jogged. The decapitations were highly smirk worthy. :drunk:

I still like watching groups of Doom zombie marines explode into a red mist after detonating nearby barrels.

Unreal Tournament, the newest one, has some nice death-scenes.

Painkiller has the best impaling options >=)
And also a lot of good gore..

God of War is supposed to have some really fucking fab death-scenes, but alas it still hasn't come to Denmark.

That's all that I can think of right now.
