STALKER continues to be vapourware

Post by Mr. Teatime »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... .A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl">Game: S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadows of Chernobyl</a>

<p>There's some report out for THQ that talks about the highlights of the fiscal year 2006 for the publisher. <a href="http://www.stalker-game.com" target="_self">STALKER</a> isn't on that list, implying that the game might not make a 2006 release date. <a href="http://stalker.myexp.de/en/index.php?si ... hp&id=1759" target="_self">Oblivion-Lost asked the publisher what was going on</a> and got a typical PR response:</p>
<blockquote>
<p><em>"THQ's
financial year runs from April 1st 2005 through to March 31st 2006.
This is standard practise and widely known in the industry and
business. There was no mention of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as we have already
announced it many times in the investor relations announcements. We
have no definitive release date yet for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. We do expect to
have some
announcements, including a public demonstration this summer. More news to follow."</em>&nbsp; </p>
</blockquote>
<p>I love the smell of vapourware in the morning.

Killing a rat would make me bluescreen and remove my operating system. It's some animal friendly version, I suspect. :sadblinky:

I still think it looks pretty good, but I am doubtful that by the time we see it, it'll be as groundbreaking or such as it would if they released it last year or such.

I'm thinking they're changing it to an MMORPG.

I'm thinking that after two more years of endless delays, THQ will drop this turd and the only publisher who'll come near it will be Interplay, who will only release the multiplayer mode and call it Fallout Online.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.
