This is a great game, clearly based off Fallout, but from a first person prospective using a heavily modifyed HL1 engine! Get together! Have a few laughs! Put a 50cal slug and a big hammer through eachothers heads!

Yeah, Wasteland Half Life, The Wastes, and the not so recently announced Wasteland Half Life 2 are all dead. If you can find it, I recommend beta2. It has the best maps, great akimbo system and weapons, and overall kicks ass. There's even working bots for it somewhere. Some reason after beta2, which came out 3 or 4 years ago, they waited forever to release a new cut down and broken version of it as a joke.

It's a total bummer that WHL2 has gone the way of Chris Farley - coked up, dead, and lying on top of a hooker. I loved mapping for The Wastes, and I was eagerly looking forward to doing so for WHL2. Fuckers.

i feel very very disappointed, last year there was a forum we talked a lot on thewastes, and as i reaccess internet, i search search and no way to find a valid place anywhere some activists still play the game The wastes !

i'ts so simple to hear.. well find the beta2 and it's ok it's the best, but if no one evangelizes it and makes it spread on p2p, where damn could we find it ????? the only we can see is 1.4, and on "fucking" Steam servers, we can't see not a single place to play (even it's seems impossible, each time i try creating of finding a game of Thewastes, it says my version is not up to date ! but it seeks and finds no other update, loophole

so you know what, i'm very deceived, seems the remnants of holocaust don't want play more is the term

the wastes was so great, sounds, akimbos, graphics, i'm very very tired to see no one wants play it just by pure slack attitude, if people wanted to play it, there were still games on line !!

searching many times i only saw this "recent" info :

the wastes april 2005 : 66.111.34.200:27016 , but the server is 0 players on about 5 days i tried access on different hours
