For many years the simple Computer has been downed upon for not having multiplayer Hookup. Then the Internet came and that all changed. Since then multiplayer don't work so well when you have people over at a party and they didn't bring their 40lb computer. Why hasn't anyone tried to hook up multiple mouse, Keyboard, and gamepads. I just don't see the point in having a $1000 computer and a $400 console setup, It is not logical. If there were a console style mohaa that you could hook up 4 people to on one computer instead of an xbox or PS2. This is coming from a person that wants to save money and not give it out the ass.
Peace

I already did this, kind of. I have a PC connected to my TV and the internet. I've got 4 USB controllers, 2 keyboards, and 2 mice. We play damn near everything, split screen it may be. One neat thing is playing over the net against a few people while 3 people play in my living room. Kind of tight.
For the more console edge, I have every game from Atari to Coleco to N64 with appropriate emulators. No PSX or Saturn, of course.
Edit: Not many games support 2 keyboards or mice on one PC...Some of the emulators allow it, though. But then again, I'd rather use a gamepad to play NES.

I third these notions.
I miss my c64.
USB hubs? TV converters. Split screens. Maybe split/quad screen then pipe each section to an old tv. It doesn't seem so hard. Just like having a micro-network with just a few terminals/etc.
But it would have to be coded for/etc.
We could try one of those pointless web petitions.
