Fallout 2 Source Code Petition - Reminder

Well, I'm sure most forum users already have signed this petition, but for those of you who haven't, I suggest you go and do so now...
Basically, it's a petition to get I'play/BIS to release the Fallout source code.

Yeah, everyone who visits this forum should sign it! I hope Interplay will release it soon. Btw, this should have been posted in Discussion forum, so more people will notice it.

Right now there is 671 signatures... oh, and... 11662 in the "We want Fallout -3" petition... 8) Perhaps someone should post a reminder about that as well..?

Signed about 700 signatures ago.. Do I think this will work? I honestly don't know. But I don't see there being any harm at all in us trying, and if it does work- wonderful!

Just wondering. Is the incredible suckage of the MicroForté people and their FO:T storyline a reason why people don't want that source code? I, for one, think it's a more viable system.

No, it's because the Phoenix engine is still current. The hopes are that Fallout is old and defunct, so they can release the source code (a bit like Wolf3d, then Doom and then Quake)...
MF apparantl plans to reuse the Phoenix engine for some other game... So of course they don't want that to be freely available...

The Art backup (ie: the original 3D art) was lost, but the code was safe, as MF had access to that.
