DEIW with 3DAnalyzer

I am attempting to give Dues Ex: Invisible War a shot.
Problem: I got ripped off by nVidia.
Y'know, the Geforce4 MX scam.

I'm trying to use the 3DAnalyzer workaround which fakes out
the pixel-shader requests.
I've been able to get the program to load and can even make it
through the portrait/difficulty selection screen.
Then the game freezes and I can't even use CTRL-ALT-DELETE.
Total freeze.

I have spent hours googling for help.
Not much available.

By any chance, does anybody here know what settings to use in 3DAnalyzer to get this thing to run?

I thought that would be the response.
I'll buy a decent graphics card when there are decent games.
Y'know: with depth, substance, etc.

how about
Deus Ex: IW sucks anyway, and since you are not missing out much there is no need to fiddle around with your graphics card
then? D:

OK, it gets returned.
Store credit only.
Fuck.
Is there anything new that doesn't suck?
Or do I reinstall PS: T?

Has anybody tried I76? I thought that looked interesting.

PST is good choice. I just bought at EB a second hand copy of Arx Fatalis and it is somewhat better than I thought. I don't recommend it though, but you might tempted to give it a go if you don't find anything better.

Or else.. BG I/II? Wizardry 8? OP F? Korsun Pocket or Dominions 2? That would be the games I'd go with if I were you, if you don't have them of course.

For the gForce part, I sympathize with you pal, I have a gForce 2 MX. B)

You got credit for the game or for the card?

I would never bother with a game that requires some voodoo stuff to just work. That's just so lame.

Oh yeah, the famous indie strategy with ugly graphics and ability to command Zulus On Spiders versus Cthulhu.

*laughs*

And yet you bother with DX : IW . . .

How quaint.

Arx Fatalis was pretty interesting. Ultima Underworld remake, but still :)

The game. If I had bought a card, I would have done my research.
But I bought an OTS system thinking: "I'll get upgrades later so I
won't worry too much about the ability to play candy games."

Maybe the inability to run that shit is a blessing.

I can run the dissapointing Far Cry.

If I were an evil retailer, I'd set up a whole row of machines with
the Far Cry intro screen running. Over the row I'd have a banner:
"Behold the power of the Geforce4 MX."

Far Cry is good at what it does.

Yes. I just got bummed out by the descent into cliched level design,
timeworn plot, etc.
Nothing New Under The Sun.

Add civilian ragdolls, massive gore, children, etc.
Throw in cafes, shopping malls, schools, etc.
THEN we'd be getting somewhere.

I want that goddamned "murder simulator" the wacky anti-violence
activists are always going on about.
