Don't be a BNOL, check out this game. Not only is it one of the most kick-ass RPGs I've played in a long while, it's gonna be FREE, TOO (at least when the newest patch comes out).

Looking at the screenshots, it's no beauty but it still looks bearable.
Required:
300 MHz processor
64 MB of RAM
Windows 98- Prelude will not run in Windows 2000
8 MB 3D accelerated graphics card
Sound card
40 MB of free hard disk space
Recommended:
500 MHz processor
128 MB of RAM
16 MB 3D accelerated graphics card
Wow, the hardware requirements make my gForce2 MX look hot.
It's odd and intriguing that most reviews of the game are all from RPG Codex.

Played it last year, purchased it. 'Twas highly enjoyable and dare I write it - refreshing.

It's quite long, if you want to do see everybody and do everything, but it's not being lengthy for length's sake (See: Halo and the Library levels).

It looks very NWN-style.

Oh, it's anything but. For one thing, you can go through the game without having to engage in a lot of combat (Though there are some areas that require combat), the speech skill is actually useful and it has a big impact, the combat is actually turn-based and not bastardized RTwP et cetera. Trust me, the game is damn good.
Play it, you french bastard.

I sure will. But currently I'm at work and all I can do is moan and bitch.
How are the dialogues like? And the story? Is it well written?

Dialouges are great and use stat checks and all that good shit. The story gets the job done, not Torment-caliber, but it'll keep you interested and intrigued.
Like I said, just play it ffs

Sounds effects are fine and some of the music can be a bit grating, but overall it's fine.
As for you, KashFUCK (ho ho!), be patient. Good things come to those who wait, yessir
Or you can always try to find some of the older demos on download.com or GamersHell or something.
Edit: And I don't have a shitty avatar
