Never tried it. I think the whole idea is bullshit.

I do recommend checking out this little known japanese born mod "SMod". It adds a ton of new weapons ( some cut by Valve), more combine soldiers, new monsters (stalkers, houndeyes I think, etc), gibbing, a really awesome Duke 3d style kick, bullet time, new particle and blood effects, other small changes like working headlights for the buggy, and some chapter additions without changing the core game.

There's nothing japanese about it (except the readme which you don't need, and a few strange weapons you'll probably never use). Also it's the only decent modification released for Half Life 2 in the last year. The singleplayer is actually worth replaying.

san andreas is uber. I just started playing it (and I have essays due and exams and what not in a coupla weeks). uber.

It was ok, but suffers from repetive action later on... And once you finish the missions there's really no point in doing anything, since you have kazillion trillion dollars in your bank account, all the weapons with maxed up ammunition and the best cars in your carage

So this one time I played HL2. And then I beat it and was sorely disappointed. Boring. Short. Uninteresting. Bring back Wasteland Half Life.

well since there's no story at all and is more about patience and being creative, mabye 5 MINUTES HYUK HYUK. smod is ok, but garrys mod is better. It's worth a look, you can make gman have a dumb face. And make soldiers fight each other.

Garys mod lets you spawn any item from the game and do stuff to it. You can make a cross out of 2 planks of wood, fuse them, and hang a black guy from it. You can make vehicles out of bathtubs and put razor wheels on them so you can drive over soldiers on the ground. You can fuse a guy to a toilet and put booster rockets on him and launch him into a spiked wall.

Technically, it can last forever because you just use your imagination to make things. Although... it takes a shit load of time to do.
