Let's talk about food!
What's your favorite meal?
What's your favorite meal?
Pretty much anything with minced meat: meatballs, meatloaf, pasta & minced meat, cream potatoes & minced meat etc. I also like to spice them up with some sweet thai chili sauce and/or mustard, depending on the spices available. Steaks are also nice and so are good salads, but I must say my personal favorite is the all-around nice choice also known as MINCED MEAT, LOL
Minced meat? Are you that poor in Finland?Kashluk wrote:Pretty much anything with minced meat: meatballs, meatloaf, pasta & minced meat, cream potatoes & minced meat etc. I also like to spice them up with some sweet thai chili sauce and/or mustard, depending on the spices available. I've eaten in restaurants in Moscow where a dish made of some nearly extinct fish and a couple of oysters costs 400 USD and you won't get your stomach full, you'll only feel bad for spending that much money and the hunger still stays. Like Finnish buffets, our minced meat must be somewhat equivelant to your gastronomical pieces of art, some gourmé plateful of canuck Yeti shit or something, since you can't seem to value good food when you hear about it.S4ur0n27 wrote:Minced meat? EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot about 'mykyrokka', a local traditional dish that is awesome. It beats even minced meat in this honorable battle of foodstuffs, since it's about as cheap but tastes even better. It's the choice of cavemen, UGH.

minced meat is good, very versatile.
I don't really like eating any more, just the idea of it makes me a bit sick. I used to like a lot of stuff and be able to eat anything but recently I've only been able to drink water and eat curries without gagging. So anyway I guess chicken vindaloo with 8 chapattis and a glass of water if that's okay
I guess I like stuff that's tasteless (dry toast, crackers etc) or it brings along a feeling that overpowers taste and makes me forget I'm swallowing something like a hot curry or chili.

i rarely prepare anything more complicated than a frozen pizza, since i've got people to cook for me. namely my flatmate and my bf. lasagne is always a winner, and home-made pizza is also great, since that's one of the few dishes where i can really load up on shrooms.
i'll be eating nothing but meat for about a week now, since my flatmate took a trip over the border and brought home a ton of the stuff. yum!

Well, there are fancy restaurants where you can get your stomachs full for much less then 400 USD.Kashluk wrote:I've eaten in restaurants in Moscow where a dish made of some nearly extinct fish and a couple of oysters costs 400 USD and you won't get your stomach full, you'll only feel bad for spending that much money and the hunger still stays. Where are you coming from with your "you can't seem to value good food when you hear about it"?
Minced meat, in our culture, usually is used by poor people since it's the cheapest meat on the market. I guess all of us ate so much of it as kids that we got fed up with it. I don't hate it anyway, I eat some at least once a week, usually with pastas, but I think it's far from being the best thing out there.
I always think of things cost-efficiently, blame my business school education or whatever you like. I do not value MEGA ICE CREAM or any other delecacy, because I know I will be puking it out if I had to eat it every day. I also like pizza, nicely baked ham and many many other types of foods, but minced meat is the kind I could eat every day of my life with a big fat smile on my face.
I'm weird, I know that. I also like to fuck with you, so don't take my shit too seriously, mang. No one does.
