4 long years of Fan Made Fallout
<strong>[ Mod -> Update ]</strong> - More info on <a href="http://wikipocalypse.duckandcover.cx/in ... ?title=Fan Made Fallout">Mod: Fan Made Fallout</a>
<p>While you'll have to wait at <a target="_self" href="viewtopic.php?t=14342">least 6 months for Fallout 3</a>, <a target="_self" href="http://fanmadefallout.com/">Fan Made Fallout</a> is going to make you wait at <a target="_self" href="http://fanmadefallout.com/forums/viewto ... 766">least another three</a>! They've made a big news post celebrating their 4th year on the job and even have a graph of the number of forum posts they've made. Here's the bad news:
</p><blockquote><p><img width="606" height="334" border="0" src="http://www.fanmadefallout.com/IMG/news/ ... _chart.gif" /></p><p><span class="postbody">
The poor performance of the first three years can also be blamed on
poor management. Systems we've developed now (that have evolved over
the course of those few years) are holding us in good stead and bode
well for the future of the project. However, we'll need many more new
members to join in and help out if we plan on getting this project
finished. As we progress however, it's becoming clearer that we WON'T
be making our self-imposed July 1st 2007 deadline. At the rate of our
current progress, that deadline could be pushed back as far as 2009. I
won't be making an official announcement about that or choosing a new
deadline until mid this year though, when things will be much clearer
and our ability to do what we hope to achieve will be more easily
ascertained.
</span></p></blockquote><p>The good news is that there's also a model of a talking head and some FMF imagey thing in the news post as well but as I'm the Project Leader of FMF, I'm going to make you <a target="_self" href="http://fanmadefallout.com/forums/viewto ... t=1766">go over there to see them</a>.</p><p>As always, they're asking for more members, so go on and join if you're interested. Happy 4th birthday FMF.

YOu seriously set a release date for July 1st, 2007? Its not even a year close yet and you are already delaying it. YOu guys should just kick it into overtime and release it this summer or something. Perhaps you can make a thread for forum members to write the dialog for a character, make it like a community project. Each NPC would of the flavor of someone else, it wont be OMG PROFFESIONAL quality like your writing but it will get the shit done and sense of pride in the community.
I think there is still(?) others making fallout mods, perhaps you can tell them to work with you or die.

Pardon, release what this summer? It's not like we have anything to release. Unless you meant giving everybody access to the development forums.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:YOu guys should just kick it into overtime and release it this summer or something.
We already let everybody who's willing write dialogues. With the exception for those who suck.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:Perhaps you can make a thread for forum members to write the dialog for a character
It already is.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:make it like a community project.
That's unavoidable as long as you have many different dialogue writers. Which we have.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:Each NPC would of the flavor of someone else
I seriously doubt that.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:it wont be OMG PROFFESIONAL quality like your writing but it will get the shit done
We already have that too.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:and sense of pride in the community.
The other major fallout 2 mod in the making is Mutants Rising, with whom we already cooperate. Not as in sharing dialogue writers, but as in helping out with management problems and other issues that arise.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:I think there is still(?) others making fallout mods, perhaps you can tell them to work with you or die.
Thanks for your consern though, it was very helpful. Now we can probably release FMF a few years sooner.

Be nice POOPERSCOOPER.
I give FMF my blessings, as should we all.
Try contributing some material yourself (i.e. write some dialogue).

Why? (damn, Bloodlust beat me to it!)POOPERSCOOPER wrote:Show us proof that you guys actually have some work done on FMF.
Seems like your thoughts about the FMF project is about as high as mine about you.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:I think you guys just worked hard for a week and made some maps and NPCs.
Thank the Lord.Jesus Christ wrote:I give FMF my blessings, as should we all.
He already offered his help once. Appearantly his wallet wasn't big enough though:Jesus Christ wrote:Try contributing some material yourself (i.e. write some dialogue).
