Call of Cthulhu

...is a good game, and if you don't agree, you will suck demon cocks in Hell.

First part of the game is first-person adventure thing, the next part is first person sneaker, then it's a more traditional shooter like I dunno, NOLF, only there aren't that many bad guys, and ammo is pretty limited. It's also scary OMG. That's how far I got, I don't know how many chapters are there left.

If you expect every game made on a popular license to be orgasmic, you are an idiot. I played Call of Cthulhu until 5:30 in the morning, so it's good enough for me to keep playing.

It looks scary.

Try this one instead.

I played it. It was pretty good, except it had some kind of horrible illogical puzzle midway which I had to look up on the internets.

I've read some pretty positive reviews of CoC: Dark Corners of the Earth, so I'll probably pick it up when it hits the bargain bins. :che:

the one thing the game did to piss me off was that your guns barly did any damage in comparison to the villagers weapons. Cheap bastards.

Villagers miss 90% of the time though. D:

Oh, and in the end COTC puzzles become not very intuitive. There's also a timing bug in the very end in the final sequence, it's tricky but you can still get the ending, ask me when you get to it ;)

You get to battle a shoggoth and Flying Polyps, which is awesome in my book B)

It goes without mention that polyps epitomise awesome.

I shall play this game, along with several others, eventually. :drunk:

I didn't even know this game came out for PC already. Is it good even if you havent read the lovecraft stories?

It was delayed several years. I remember first hearing about it in 2001. My question is how the hell do you pronounce Cthulhu? Is it "choo-loo", "thoo-loo", "thool-hoo", "chool-hoo", "chul-oo" or what? I hate stupid names and that's the main reason I wrote it off as crap a long time ago.

Apperently the best "human vocal chords" can do is along the lines of Ka-Thu-Lu though Lovecraft always speculated it to be better pronounced "Khlul'hloo."

Then again, Lovecraft had a cat named "swell guy man," so maybe its best we disregard his opinion.....or take it as gospel depending on how much you hate black people.

It is probably pronounced like "who gives a shit". Is it like FOA or more like a good shooter? I don't like riddles in my games.

Bobby.

If I could give your unwarranted prejudice(s) nasty, nasty cancer . . .

Instead, I'll remain (relatively ?) content with a vague sense of disappointment regarding such pettiness.

And the hope that you might dispel them at some point. Somewhere.

That would be hilarious. Actually, it is. Not entirely certain why, though. :drunk:

Possibly because I'd like to see someone appologize for "swell guy man" being in heat.

I said that's the main reason. I have plenty of other perfectly valid reasons for not caring. I'm not going to list them so I'll automatically assume you agree with me. Let's leave it at that.

Yes, I noticed. Sadness. For as the header is thus, conjure those that follow with and by logic . . .

Sadness.
Mad Max RW wrote:I have plenty of other perfectly valid reasons for not caring.
Of course. Anything else wouldn't be the always way, would it ?

*laughs*

At least a burning question was snuffed. An illuminative small mercy. :drunk:

Considering it's a goddamn shooter with a dice-roll system, I doubt I'll get it. It's amazing, eveyone hates the elder scrolls for it's crappy combat, yet an incredibly similar system is put in a Call of Cthulhu game and everyone goes crazy over it. Fucking bastards...

By the way, H.P. Lovecraft was racist prick.

In C.O.C., you're supposed to suck at combat; so a crappy system
is a way of expressing that.

swell guy Man.

Dice-rolling? Maybe you should get your ignorant ass a copy and play it. There are no dice in COTC. It's not RPG. There are no skills or character improvement (thank god for that). And if it makes it any better, it's not much of a shooter either. If you HAVE to classify what genre a game belongs to before you give it a chance, dipshit, you're missing out on a LOT of cool games out there.

Really... so, if I took a pistol and shot at you from 10 feet away, would I not hit you? I guess my thoughts on this are slightly skewered, considering I do own pistols and am a very good shot with them.

You know what, just consider my argument a moot point, is that alright?
