Duck and Cover

I guess its a secret, but I have read somewhere that you should play with a female chara named Buffy. Well I did, and when I talk to Becky in the Den, she says something like "Buffy, long time no see" or something along those lines. Then she mentions a "dave", but at the end of the dialogue she gives me 1000$, metal armor, 5 stims, a plasma grenade, and some other stuff I think. That is so awesome for the beginning of the game!

Has anyone else done this, or do they know of any other names that cause stuff like this?

Yep, I know this one. You can use that if you want an easier start...

Haven't tried that, but I don't like getting easier starts. Like going to San Fran/Navarro right at the beginning. Well, I guess 1000$, metal armor, 5 stimpacks and a plasma grenade isn't too helpful

Nah I didnt do it for the easier start. I did it to try something new, and find out more about the game. And yeah, metal armor, 5 stims, and 1000$ are very helpful. Again, I dont need it that much, but its fun finding out new things.

Mad Max? y'know, since theres heavy resemblence to the Mad Max series, and since the guys at interplay are freakin crazy when i comes to adding out of game content, the chances are theres a few other names you can put in that will make different results.

that easy start would be very useful, but since i always use steal, i'd have that much by the time i got to vault city.

Yeah so I was wondering, does anybody know of other names that create such responses. Trying to find as much about this game as possible.

Damn its in there. I searched for Buffy though. I dont think Ill be able to seach through the entire thing for other names though.

I've read it through quite a few times, and no, there is no other such things documented there.

I heard of the Buffy one and a similar one in Fallout 1. Apparently, you can yourself Emma as a female character and Tandi will sleep with you.

It's not true- there is no way to sleep with Tandi in FO1.

M first char i beat the game with was named Mad Max, I never found anything special. I also beat fallout 1 with that name nothing special either

Given the developers' tendency to saturate the game with pop culture references, I'm surprised that you don't meet the Black Knight from "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Given that, and that your game name is None if you dont pick one, we get the following:

"None shall pass!"
(slaughters assorted people who wish to pass)
"But sir, my name is None."
"Very well, pass then."
(BK returns to slaughtering the others who wish to pass)

Would Buffy be some sort of crazy reference to Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
