Its here, although this is the most similar "movie from a game" it still has differences.
As how before the main charactor was a guy called harry, its a girl called rose.
Looks kinda freaky as the game was, even when it was on the original ps, in 2 brief words a nightmare.
Its out already anyway so if anyones seen it, tell us what you think about it.

It contains a woman being rape by barbed wire.

I enjoyed it, but don't expect Citizen Kain as the acting is pretty mediocre at best. The story will also probably leave you saying "huh?" as it's different from Silent Hill 1. I enjoyed it and understood it after awhile of thinking, but it's one of those movies where the ending is left to interpretation and apperently critics hate endings that aren't hand fed to them anymore.

It keeps in the spirit of the game, I can say that at the least.

I thought they were tring to go for the girl (Main CHaractor) in Silent Hill 3 in this movie.

I like the origional one better... but it was console only I believe, 2 and 3 thought I know for a fact are PC as there sitting on the shelf of games I own beside me. Havent seen the movie, waiting for it to come out on DVD... its about the same price to buy it usualy as it is to see it in a theater so I prefer to buy it when its sompthing I know I like or its game related.

The beasties were really nifty as were the wastelandish streets & buildings. This is the only thing worth seeing in the flick alas.

The characters were some of the worst I have ever seen. Don't know about you, but if there are monsters about I seriously doubt I'd be running around screaming someones name asking the fucking things to please come eat me. Not to mention running around screaming & being generally a stupid cunt. Ugh.

Mom = dumb bitch
cop = dumb bitch with gun
kid = irritating
Dad = pretty damned useless
Supporting cast = (no shock here) horrible

Violent death would have been my prefered treatment of all the movie characters. Oh well, can't have it all I guess.

barbedwire attack in a church. ragpeople ripped to tiny wet globs and wonderful sprays of dark blood. uber sounds in this movie. all the wet sloshes and sbluds are very lifelike. the conehead shuold have dominated the movietime like +50%. bizarre metal slaughter chambers and metallic goocoverde torture machine. but no. too much of this caucasian whimpering woman panting away from the horrors. after 2nd viewing i downgrade my mark to 2 snorts out of 6. 2 for graphics only.

I think that the main problem that people have with this film (and they don't even know that they have it) is that they're looking at it the wrong way. From the begining, Cristophe Gans and his cast and crew have said that what they were doing with this film is making it as an interpretation of a nightmare. I personally think that they suceeded very well in this respect as many of the cited problems of the film can be explained away by looking at it as such. People do not behave rationally or speak normally in nightmares, nor do things happen or exist in ways that they should, nor do they make sense. In fact I think that they succeeded so very well that they forgot to take into account two important factors: Nightmares are only frightening to the people having them, and they tend to be discarded and forgotten very quickly.

It was alright.

You can only really enjoy fully if you've played the games.

It only really starts getting a bit lame near the end, but still manages to be pretty cool until the very end of it all.

The part with the dark place and the lighter was the best and was also the part I was most looking forward to seeing.
