Battle system looks like Final Fantasy to me

It's definitely trying the demo at least. Some people are complaining about the balance and the AI, but it's pretty solid overall (so far at least).

It's actually pretty good. They've really done well in terms of capturing the essence of the older games. I'm currently playing a single mission as the Sylvans. They're pretty good, although I have yet to come across anything as cheap as the Infernal Succubus.

I like it, but they're doing this whole WARCRAFT 3 thing again with the campaigns, and it's pretty bogus.

I have to chant a mantra while I play: "This isn't WC3."

Is this going to be like heroes 4, or the other heroes?

I've had it on HD for 2 weeks but haven't yet gotten around to install it.

I'm probably not going to try it. I just don’t have the gamming itch these days. I think Oblivion turned me off. I have been trying to get into some of my faves like civ2 and FO but I'm starting to think it's gone for good. Due to the "mediocre at best" reviews I am reading here today I think I am just going to wait for something great, until then, videogames are off my agenda.

I actually loved warcraft 3, but I played HoMM5 for a bit and the voice over and plot seemed shitty Does it get any better?
If you're gonna do a Warcraft 3 thing, get good voiceovers and a nice story...

I think I'll stick to the campaign.. I've played a couple of custom (v.big) maps, and two times my strategy with a shitload of small ranged units worked perfectly. They take down everything..
Third time I summoned units which also worked brilliantly, since I got half my army copied into the battlefield, giving me nearly no losses.

Not the best game I've played, but it'll bring out a few giggles at LAN.

LAN parties are so 1998.
