Traits, Perks

Since Bethesda decided to make Fallout 3, we figured we might as well have a forum about it.

Traits, Perks

Post by Koki »

So, hoping that FO3 will use SPECIAL in it's current form, which of the above you'd like to see? Any new ones from Tactics you'd like to use? Or some old ones which need changes to work better?

A loner trait: you've stayed away from people your whole life and interacting with others is a problem. But you learned a lot just from staying away from people. You get a bonus to intelligence (+1) and science, but your speech suffers.

Perhaps make some of the current perks more useful, such as Adrenaline Rush? Or the Outdoorsman's perks?

edit: If the random encounters were actually worth your while, then I guess you could use those perks, at the moment, they are useless.

Actually, Outdoorsman should be one of the most important skills, but whatever.

Adrenaline Rush should work like a short term drug, adding something after 2-3 rounds of combat then decreasing stats for few hours maybe. Where are those medicine people when you need them

Way Of The Fruit, Green Thumb, add an extra level to Flower Child, make Toughness 15% per level, Bonus Move to 3 hexes/level(or 30% rather than 20%), make educated work better/combine with the bookworm perk(?),synergies- say if Skilled you can get a second level of Tag and an extra level of Educated(good for science path/etc.) also make it so taking those extra levels costs you a one-time pushing ahead of next perk opportunity for each one, modify mutate perk so it can create new traits instead of just replacing (allow ghouls/SMutants to take it repeatedly), plus add the Smutant and Ghoul perks/traits.

Oh and other crap, too.

And bring back Molerat Mambo!

I always liked the 'Nietzsche's Posterchild" in Arcanum - 10% more failures but 10% more EXP.

I just hope to see “good natured and maybe a “celebrity perk which would give X2 to all Karma effects good or bad, because “You’re a celebrity and so, everybody is watching you.

I really want to see some of those background things from Arcanum make an appearance. With perks and traits, it'd be an enormous playground for character creation.

What, you think it's too much? It's just an extra char tweaking option, and I'm all for options. Get one skill all the way down to zero for an extra stat, or vice versa, could be just the thing that's missing from your character to make it perfect, and with a little backstory it really adds to personalization.

Yeah the backgrounds Troika did were always very Fallouty IMO. Playing through V:BL now as a 'Batshit' Malkavian. Crying shame Beth got the license instead of them.

There already is a perk for that. For whatever you do, the karma +/- is doubled. I cannot recall the name of it, though.

I do enjoy a good dish of coy, but cult of personality does not double the rate at which you +/- Karma.
