Darksynth Mod
<strong>[ Mod -> Preview ]</strong>
<p>New forum member <strong>Darksynth</strong> has let us know about a <em>Fallout</em> mod that she's supposedly been working on for almost 5 years now. It's called <a target="_self" href="http://www.darksynthcproductions.bravehost.com">Darksynth: Days of Destruction</a>. Here's what she had to say:
</p><blockquote><p><em>Greetings as leader of darksynth@productions I am happy to say that afther 4/5 years our mod is almost done!! The demo will be launched in september 2006. The mod(darksynth_days of destruction) is based on fallout 3. It has 400 new items with their own images. There are 30/32 main maps(cities)
and submaps, and 12 new special locations also known as special encounters. Everyting is new, people enemies etc.</em></p></blockquote><p>I can only assume English is not this person's first language, due to the typos and grammatical error on the website. Also, it appears that there is some dubious content on the website...like how she supposedly interviewed someone at Bethesda who makes a definite claim about <em>Fallout 3</em>'s release date, and that one of the Darksynth team members has played the "<em>Fallout 3</em> demo". Anyways, you're welcome to go to <a target="_self" href="http://www.darksynthcproductions.bravehost.com">Darksynth's website</a> and do whatever. Toodleoo!</p><p> </p><p><strong>EDIT:</strong> Since I posted this, and basically called BS on the Darksynth team's Fallout 3 claims, they removed mentions of viewing the Fallout 3 demo (which the team leader now claims was really a screenshot) and the "interview" which the team leader now says never happened, and that she is very disappointed with her team member who made it up. Ehue ehue.

You should have seen my original newspost. I invited you all to go to that website and mock them profusely. I also used much stronger language when denouncing their fake claims about Fallout 3. Anyways, I figured I'd post it anyways as it is something of relevance to the Fallout community.

I'd salute the sublimity of the subject, the nuances thereof and those responsible by way of improper Melker Anderssons, however I suspect St. Toxic would provide a retaliatory 'anonymous' tip to the Marmosets. Methylated matters more than body.
Suffice it to say I enjoyed a protracted and thoroughly satisfying cackle. Though it would have doubtlessly been enhanced had I viewed the original post. Lamentations, Time !
Lol.

Split it up into at least two or even several downloads, for instance I've got absolutely no interest in downloading your new music.darksynth wrote:lol i zipped most of the files now with winzip/winrar lol.![]()

as for other things.
many years ago we begon this project.
a mod for fot.
untill files of fallout 3 came in (designdocs)
with those docs we made a few other maps based on those docs like tibbet and maxons bunker. ect.
this mod is about how we think how fallout 3 will look like(with story ect.)

How are they going to know if they like it or not, if people don't download it?darksynth wrote:but if you dont like it then simply dont download it lol
Even in the age of broadband 400 meg is a hell of a download for a mod especially from an unknown team. The Awaken team might get away with it, but still a lot of people are just going to be put off just by the file size. Others might look around for a review and if they find an unfavorable one then they probably won't bother downloading it.
If you split the download, or at least have an alternate download in sections it will encourage more people to try it. Have one section that has all the absolute essentials needed to play the game, that is the campaign file, maps, entities, speech text files, custom tiles, custom inventory and scenery sprites.
Then have another file that has the loading screens, portraits, movies and other bumpf.
Then a third file for the music.

well the mod itself i didnt do the speeches a englisch member did that so dont worry bout typos inside the mod.
and to know if you like , well pretty soon there will be a demo which contain a few maps so you can see how it looks.
the idea about (using only the files which needed is a good idea.!
so i will make 4 files. the core (with the missions and needed to play the mod!
other 3 may come in handy, but not needed
it is good you guys say this so we can modify the mod bigness (in mb)
