Fallout Tactics multiplayer trouble

Hoping you fellows can help me out here. See, when I host games they're not visible to other people and when I try to join a game by punching in the hosts ip adress I can't find games either. I tried out Gamespy Arcade since it came bundled with Tactics, but when trying to play as a joiner the screen just goes black and freezes when the host launches the game and as the host noone else makes it intio the game.
I guess it might have to do with ports or something, but I'm hoping you could tell me since I know nothing about that. Anyway. Everyone was using the 1.27 patch and I don't have any custom sprites or anything like that. I also made Fallout tactics excerpt from the windows firewall protection, which is the only firewall thingamabob I'm using so I don't really know what the fuck.
