Nintendo is where it's at

Post by Mr. Teatime »

I'm seeing reports of the specs of the new nintendo console, and they're not that much above the old gamecube. Nowhere near the power of the ps3 or x360.

I think this is a really good thing actually. Nintendo are following through on their philosphy of new, unique games rather than stupid tech demos (and honestly, is there a game worth playing on the xbox 360? I can't think of one). It's ALL about the games - which is why, as i've said before, I've been playing my DS rather than any new PC games, ever since I got it. Phoenix Wright with its static environments, 2d characters and text only dialogue > Titan Quest (which is the last PC game I bought and haven't played much since).

Besides that, the games will be cheaper than on the consoles and the console itself will be of a reasonable price, AND developers won't have to spend 75% of their budget on the graphics department of their studio. It's win-win...

Or Nintendo should've stopped when whatever nutjob who thinks human beings are some three armed tentacle freakshow accepted the Nintendo64's controller.

Nintendo is indeed where it's at. If you're 12. Or it's 1998.

Something different?

I hear there was a game out recently, something like "Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel," completely and utterly different in the realm of Fallout.

The wii is an interesting idea if they get it to work. Based on all reports from people who actually held it the main problem is lack of accuracy and being nearly uncontrolable. If this isn't fixed it'll be another power glove or virtual boy. I predict it'll come out with a lot of fanfair then sink into the background.

I'll buy Wii just because Nin dared to make it.

Then I'll use it as a monitor stand, because I don't like running as some furry collecting gold stars while singing or some shit like that.

Looks like it's me and Pooper vs everyone else. Look, if you haven't played Paper Mario, go and buy a gamecube and play it. You'll soon see how it's the best adventure-RPG game with the funniest dialogue since Anachronox, which in turn was the best adventure-RPG with the funniest, most intelligent dialogue since ever.
I pity those who haven't been enlightened!

Some muslim probably has the copyright on that last sentence, Teatime, you better watch it if you don't want more money troubles D:

By the way, I heard some guy in China copyrighted Zidane's head shot on Materazzi for only 2000 yuan(about 300$).

It's fucking MARIO. Sorry but I'm not one of these swell guy ludologists, I can't stand when everything looks like it's designed by 13-year-old girl.

And I said I'll buy Wii. Just that it's potential will be completely wasted on fucking fishing games.

There's simply no potential for a Mario game, of all things, to out do Anachronox. Entirely infeasible. Enlightened ? Feh. You're naught but a blaspheming whore professing an evidently warped world view, Mr. Teatime. :drunk:
