Dark Messiah

Post by POOPERSCOOPER »

Is a action/sword fighting game that uses the source engine. A demo just came out a couple of days ago but its freakin huge like 1.3 gigs. It's pretty cool but the source engine is messed up because I get looping sound once in awhile and the same thing happened in HL2 episode 1 which would freeze with the looping sound. I'm not going to buy it unless I know Vavle has acknowledged or fixed the problem.

You mean you'd buy it if Valve just went "Yeah, we know our engine is fucked up. What can we say?".

It wasn't so amazing. It didn't look much better than HL2 and yet ran quite a bit worse and I got the stutter bug, too. And in general, it wasn't much fun.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Yes, I would feel much more relieved.

Spazmo, I heard a bunch of people comparing it to a game called "Die by The Sword Yo" have you played that one?

Haven't played it, but it was a first person sword swingin' game that apparently had really cool combat. The unfavourable comparisons are probably because Dark Messiah's combat is pretty dull. Anyways, I probably won't bother with the full version. I didn't even bother to finish the demo when I got hit with the stutter bug.

I played DBTS when it came out, and yes, it was cool. Has any other game used that same kind of control scheme?

Die By The Sword is simultaneously hilarious and one of the best multiplayer games ever. The control scheme is known for being somewhat unintuitive, nonetheless a wonderful experience. Especially whilst chemically compromised. :drunk:
