who's the meanest bad dude?

who/what was the meanest enemy you always found most difficult to overcome throughout the span of the game?
1) death machines in cochise
2) that freak thing sucking brains
3) humongous coyotes
4) robot shit on the way to rescue and put together max?
5) others
my crappiest 'enemy' was the stupid river stretching all over the map...my very first char was killed by radiation/poison as i couldn't find or reach a doc in time!

I'd say the robots under Vegas- the machines in Cochise are tougher, but by then, I'd have energy weaponry and heavy armor, so..

I was under the happy illusion by "Vegas, that fire and manouver matterd, but since FOT I quess it was all a kid's dream. I only thought
I got the Scorpion Tank by splitting into 3 pairs and sneaking my best
rocketeers in close, AND BEHIND. Distance mitigated the hits on my decoys.
Now I know that such concepts are beyond the abilities of modern computer,......... MARKETING. It was all a dream.

Armed with a mix of Uzis, Mac-17s and an AK97 Assault Rifle, I can't begin to tell how many times my badly wounded party had to hide and hit <ESC> to make ONE MINUTE pass at a time until they were healed up again.
Later on, I 'cheated' by copying the discs and let my Pseudo-chitin armored, Meson Cannon firing squad walk through all those damned robots.
