Playing Xp games on win2k

Post by Antimeasure »

Hoooo.

I know "age of empires 3" was playable on win2k after some trickery, i've found this other game that only runs on xp - is there a common trick that applies on all these xp games so they can be run on win2k?

Big deal: I really want to reformat and install win2k.

Look, XP is about the same as 2000 so don't expect to get less crashes or whatever you want to complain about.

You may want to try running XP games through 98 compatibility mode in 2000. To have to secretely insert compatibility mode in 2000, they have it on microsofts site. I don't know if it will help with XP games but usually shit like that is the way you want to think.

I also thought for quite some time, that 2000 was superior to XP, esp. regarding resource consumption. But XP is in fact better, also with more extra useful stuff plus you can make it look almost exactly like 2000. Keeping 2000's stability and resource consumption in XP is simply done by shutting off the unneeded stuff.
So, why not go for XP? If you still want to keep 2000 for some weird reason or just due to laziness follow poopers tip

Compatibility trickery smickery schnuff basically works only this way NEW OPERATING SYSTEM -> compatibilty options -> OLD SOFTWARE works. It's fucked up to begin with if you want to run XP only stuff on older operating systems...

I'm a fellow comrade, such as Thor Kaufman here, who also thought for a long time that Win2K was the only way to go. After moving on to dang well customized and refined version of XP Pro with all the patches and whatchacallem, I'm very happy.

I just wanted to express my disinterest for "graphic generations", that's all D:

It's not like it matters after all as long as it looks good enough and gets the job done

3G? Don't know what you're talking about.

Anyway, 2000 was the better brother of 98SE. XP is superior to it. If you want better brother of XP, that's 2003 Server.
Serious Business.
