The silly gangster look + pretty well chosen (lucky bastard I was) sniper skills from the beginning = t3h stylish w1n.

If the buggers came up close, they were up to a nice (and completely realistic omg lol, BAR for cqc, rofl
) surprise:

The screenshots were from the original S^2, taken 23rd May 2004.

Reminds me a little of Nocturne.
Please elaborate. I felt the panzerkleins just added extra testosterone in the game's balls. They were tough to kill, fun to kill with and they put the environmental physics engine in good use. It felt like a different game after the change. The setting was humoristic sci-fi anyway, so they hardly raised any believability issues?

until panzerkleins appear the game has nice historical feel, and then it becomes some haha funny sci-fi
personally I don't like the mix of 'classic 2ndWW style' with 'funny sci-fi style.' Plus they are extremely tough to kill so it's a lil bit unbalanced (at least the first mission I met them, which discouraged me)

I guess it worked for me since I liked reading Hellboy back in the days?PiP wrote:I don't like the mix of 'classic 2ndWW style' with 'funny sci-fi style.'

What, a bunch of slow mechs? If you're in one, a bit of panzerfausting could twist your balls around like nothing. If you're chasing one with a proper rec unit, you could basicly run circles around it. Or hide for that matter. Weren't pk's automatically destroyed when falling through a floor?PiP wrote:Plus they are extremely tough to kill so it's a lil bit unbalanced (at least the first mission I met them, which discouraged me)
Writing only of the enemy (as I found them tedious and unsatisfying), panzerkleins fall like anything else. However, there is only one (that I recall) area in which they can feasibly tumble. A few scant meters for the price of a hilarious quantity of explosives. Inflicted more damage upon them than the floor, and impact caused no flinching.
Didn't find them that much of an obstacle (to the gameplay, at the least), either. A decent sniper with a humble K98 (though the Sea Dragon was a quicker alternative, of course), it would take a short while, true, yet superior mobility promises all the time that is needed. A properly motivated scout or two with knives, though that was best from ambush upon one (and usually only one) such foe. An engineer with nitroglycerin, hecsogen or even lyddite. Either laser weapon if one wished to be a muppet. The environment itself, too, seemed to cater for their endings.
Stevely, I found the most amusement in demolishing buildings and misting as many within from the least commitment of resources. And lock picking ? When you could create portals with fists ?
Apologies for Jacque, however I am aware that there exist mods that replace the metal with meat. Didn't bother, personally, as I found the game bereft of reasons to replay.
