Glittering Gems of Hatred part deux

Kharn has put up the <a href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=34629" target="_self">second</a> of three parts of his series "Glittering Gems of Hatred" on NMA.<blockquote>Last week we refreshed everyone on the <a target="_self" href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php? ... 2">history of Fallout fans</a>.

This week we'll look at the questions we posed then, the "What is wrong
with you people?" and "Why are you always angry?" questions.

<a target="_self" href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=34629">This part has two chapters</a>;
the first is about the bitterness of Fallout fans, it looks at how this
bitterness is actually a part of what kept the franchise alive, but
also look at how this anger has developed in respose to the way the
Fallout franchise was treated.

The second chapter looks at the way gaming franchises work, how
franchises like X-Com have died while the TES series has been thrown
about in odd, but successful ways, and what we can expect from the
Fallout franchise if maltreated like that.</blockquote>Thanks to Kharn and Jiujitsu for the tip.

I really hope Bethesda will get to read this, it should make them think. As should a whole lot more, but we all know that. Good article indeed, especially for NMA standards.

It's quite repetitive as well, in a nutshell he's saying that
FOBOS & UFO:Enforcer stink because they weren't true to the franchise canon, thus if FO3 will be Oblivion with guns it will stink off as well

I agree. I can't tell you how many "I don't understand all the hate toward Beth" posts I've seen all over the net.

I'd say because of Vivec. If that wasn't one of the worst level designs ever.. It still brings tears of hatred and frustration to my eyes along with a dirty feeling I can't seem to wash off, no matter how many showers I take. I scrub and scrub untill the bathwater turns red but it still clings to me like oil on a penguin.
