Well, for once, Guillermo del Toro did a good movie that matches his uncomparable ego.

Anyhow, great, great, great movie. I thought this was a kid flick before seing it, and that really isn't the case.

I've been wanting to see this for quite a while now but the only place it is playing around me is a shitty little 'artsy' cinema where you can cut the pretension with a knife, so for now I'm avoiding it.

I like the part when the farmer/hunter guy gets his face beaten to crap with a bottle.

I hear it was complete and utter shit, Children of Men got screwed (they chose the wrong Mexican!). Congrats to The Departed though for Editing, Direction, Screenplay and Best Film and a bit fuck yes to Morricone finally getting the "whoops, we fucked up big, take one on us" Oscar.
