good or not, haven't bought it yet so enlighten me

i played it in beta, and also the demo. it's not as good as BF2. it actually has less depth than BF2, less variety in weapons and classes. generally an "arcade" version of BF 2.

get BF 2. same graphics engine, and there are like 600-900 BF2 servers up at any given time.

i have BF2, i was just wondering if 2142 was any better

I never played it, but everyone I talked to as well as the general opinion says it's a steaming pile of shit. Stick with BF2 and mods.

Not worth getting. Vastly inferior to BF2.

I don't really like 2142, it may be the setting or the gameplay but it has no where near the grab of 2. I played BF2 a ton but 2142 I've only played a few games because I felt I had to since I bought the damn game.

Some people seem to love it as I think I should since its basically the same game but with a hokey setting.


Is BF2 community still fairly active and easy to get a game on?

yes it is pooper, i actually just hopped in a bf2 server a few minutes ago for the first time in a few months. i had to download a 500 mb patch though, because apparantly those dipshits at ea have never heard of incremental patches

I just bought BF2 recently. It's alright. Good way to waste time.


Edit. And yes, constant stream of servers up and running at all hours.

well actually there are better things one could be doing with his time (see wikipedia entry "VAGINA")

as far as BF2 goes, it does have "that" grab to it, Mashtuur has to be the best map though.

i would get on the insomnia365 server you're playing now, if not for my insomnia and inability to focus on stuff, like getting off my laptop and turning on a computer, and sitting in a chair.

we should organize some time for DAC people to spam fill a server and just wreak havoc with TKs, car bombs and flying jets into the carrier.
