Fallen Earth - another post apoc online thing

Post by Stainless »

Someone pointed me to this, and thought this was pretty interesting. Although, bits of it seem really lame. Still, it's post apoc, and looks to be putting some effort into it.

"it'll take you around 45 minutes to run to that"
"that's impressive"

Sounds fun!

It looks nice but what bothers me about MMORPGs is the aimlessness. Unless they can offer an interesting developing story or meaningful quests I really have no incentive to waste my time roaming around, gaining levels and developing the character. :oblivion syndrome:

Story nothing. Story is crap unless you can actually affect the world around you, otherwise nothing separates you from that level 1 football-I mean dwarf/gnome/tiny person thing..besides shiny pictures of armor on you. Fuckin yawn. If I'm going to spend time gaining levels and spending my money to do so, I wanna be able to tear down an enemy city if the mood strikes me. I want something besides yet another dungeon to run through 200 times, I want to make a damned -impact- on the world. Without that? It's fuckin stupid.

I tried the few day demo or whatever. I flew around space mining shit with a laser. And then I couldn't go through the jump gate for some reason. Then I uninstalled.

I had much of the same experience. The only time I've had fun in an MMO is when I find a community to be a part of, not a bunch of douchebags who want to run that dungeon 200 more times so they can get a fucking cape that sparkles or some shit.

It was good times running around Paragon City with Walt, Gaijin, and Jet.

Time & timing is also a big problem in MMO-games. You need a big community to have at least someone online with you at any given time. And in a big community it's barely possible to know all the people, so usually you're just playing with semi-strangers, which ain't any better than playing with complete strangers IMHO D:

I have watched all 3 parts of this movie... pretty funny, though.

especially the part, when the Dev says. "Here is one of my favorite characters". Some guy with feathers and hardcore nipple piercings. Interviewer "Looks more like YMCA" also the crabs with the monitors on their back are nice, me likes.

Anyone interested in having lolololol e-friends should hit me up. A few friends and I are trying to get as many people as we can to start on Warhammer Online, make a guild, and fuck some children or whatever.

Edit. And verbally and physically assaulting women and demolishing the last vestiges of Japanese culture was amazingly fun in City of Heroes.
