what are the dimensions that custom portraits should be?
also any tips for getting that green effect over them...inc the little lines... :

The small portraits are 75 x 100 pixels (width x height). The large portraits for the prefabs are 300 x 300.
All you have to do is to create a PNG file of the appropriate size and in 256 shade grayscale. Then use the FoT editors' "PNG to ZAR" converter to convert the PNG files to ZAR file and place them in the appropriate file folders. You don't have to worry about the green coloration or the grainly lines, the game does that w/the image.
